According to Dalio, the key to success lies in two fundamental steps: understanding how reality works and learning to deal with it. To have a clearer vision of what reality is, it is essential, pardon the redundancy, to be realistic. This way, you avoid wasting time on unearthly dreams that lead nowhere. For the author, the formula for success is the following: dreams + reality + determination.
The next step is to accept that good results are based on an accurate understanding of reality. People often ignore the truth when it includes difficult-to-accept realities. This dhekelia leads ignorance impedes long-term progress. To accept reality as it is, it is necessary to be radically open and transparent. This attitude facilitates rapid learning and the implementation of effective changes. By being more open, the likelihood of lying to oneself is reduced.
Ultimately, your perception of how things should be doesn't matter that much. The key is to understand how they really are.
- We must understand that we are both everything and nothing at the same time and we can choose who we want to be.
From nature's perspective, we are insignificant, but from the perspective of our mind, we are the entire universe. In the span of our life, however short it may be, we can make modest but significant contributions.I was also studying more about virtual assistance, I was also training in the area of digital marketing, in the area of sales , in the area of affiliate marketing, Pinterest management. So, I was training myself, the first two years. I still continue training myself, because we never stop learning.
How was the process of looking for work until you got it? How long did it take to get your first client?
A year later I got my first client and without the information that there is now. I had to change my mentality, the mentality of going from physical employment to remote work is a totally different mentality, because you manage other things and you look for work in a slightly different way.
So, it was very difficult for me to adapt to that mentality. I cried and said: “This is not for me.” I told my husband: “I can’t find anything, I don’t like it, I don’t know where to look.” But I think that these are the stages in life that one goes through when one wants to do something. I always say that everyone does what is easy.
You have to be there, educate yourself, offer more services, take courses, acquire skills. I always say, a normal virtual assistant who only knows how to manage and that's it, versus a virtual assistant who specializes in Pinterest management, digital marketing, sales, is what will give you more power.
And it was in that year, when I was studying all the specializations, with the virtual assistant career, because it is a career, that year was when I got my first client.
