Folk performing arts are embodied through forms of expression. To effectively protect folk performing arts, it is natural to accurately understand the concept of forms of expression of folk performing arts. There is no unified conclusion in both theory and practice regarding the concept of forms of expression of folk performing arts. Theoretical circles have given various expressions of the meaning of forms of expression of folk performing arts based on different perspectives. Some scholars, based on the spatiality of forms of expression of folk performing arts, believe that forms of expression of folk performing arts refer to the general term for forms of expression of folk culture created and performed by a specific group in long-term production and life [5]. Some scholars, based on the continuity of forms of expression of folk performing arts, believe that forms of expression of folk performing arts are a kind of artistic work that is passed down from generation to generation, continuously and slowly [6] (172). Other scholars emphasize the collectivity of forms of expression of folk performing arts, believing that forms of expression of folk performing arts are "art forms created by a certain social group (rather than an individual)" [7] (203), or refer to "artistic achievements country list created by a social group or a specific ethnic group in a specific region, reflecting the specific qualities or culture of the social group or a specific ethnic group in that specific region" [8]. In addition, some scholars, starting from the etymology of folk performing arts expressions, advocate that they should be called "folk literature" or "folk art" according to their English meanings [9] (307)
